Created by Brittiny Smith, JUNE JOI reflects her personal journey as a woman and mother on a quest to learn more about herself and  to discover more of her own story.  After having her daughters, Brittiny, saw this as a turning point. She recognized the importance of her own health, the importance of removing toxins from her environment and her own self-care as the foundation for the health and well-being of her family. 

She continued to find it almost impossible to get products that were suited for her skin, effective and weren’t so full of chemicals that they did more harm than good. Trial and error showed that common skincare ingredients actually irritate melanin rich skin and can make hyperpigmentation worse.

The solution to her skin troubles was discovered by chance.  While on a trip to Ghana, Brittiny not only found connection to the beauty of the country and its people, she found unique raw materials and beautifully hand-crafted formulas.  Plant-based oils, rich and nourishing butters, African black soap - all 100% natural, without harmful additives or chemicals.  Made by artisans and designed specifically for African skin.

From this experience with Ghanaian-sourced ingredients and skincare formulas JUNE JOI was born.  We cultivate a community of women that understands the importance of self-care.
